On Monday, the latest senior from Illinois made their college commitment to a division one school. The newest being Jaheem Webber. The 6’10” center attends Normal Community High School and played with MidPro Academy.
He ranked as one of the top available players in the states 2024 class before announcing his commitment. Webber chose Wright State over his other offers coming from Bradley, Cal Poly, Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Loyola Maryland, and Southern Illinois.
Wright State had offered him back in July following his visit to the Ohio school and he visited again towards the end of September. “It was great,” Webber said about his visit there. “The coaches were genuine, and they have a great culture there, their system fits my play style well.”
Head Coach Scott Nagy with Wright State style of play played a prominent role in landing Webber. “Wright State uses their bigs a lot as scorers and passing threat, which is something I feel like I’m good at reading,” the center said about the decision.
Webber marks the third commitment from his 2024 MidPro Academy team. He joins Hank Alvey who recently committed to Lehigh and Tyler Mason who committed to Winona State back in August.
