With his breakout grassroots season with MidPro Academy, Leshawn Stowers has developed into one of the top guards in Illinois 2025 class. With his rise, the 6’5” guard picked up his first couple of division one scholarship offers over the past couple of months.
In July, Incarnate Word was the first school to offer the junior. Next up Eastern Illinois also offered him in September. Additionally, a number of other programs have also shown interest in him. Bradley, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, and Wisconsin-Green Bay have all come to watch him workout this fall.
“My season with MidPro was great. I had a breakout season and proved that I can play in tough games,” Stowers said about his grassroots season. With his play, Stowers was named first team at the 16U level of the NY2LA Association. He was also a big piece of MidPro capturing the 16U NY2LA Association championship back in July.
Over the course of the spring and summer, Stowers proved to be one of the most impactful and versatile 2025 players in the area. He has a good combination of size and strength in the backcourt. The powerful guard has shown the ability to run the point with all his tools, is a very tough on ball defender, and is a versatile scorer. Next up for Stowers is a visit to Loyola-Chicago this Saturday and then one to Wisconsin-Green Bay on the 28th.
