While he had received some division two scholarship offers earlier this year, Luke Kinkade picked up his first division one offer on Saturday. The offer came from The Citadel on an official visit to South Carolina school. Kinkade is a 6’3” senior guard at Neuqua Valley High School (IL) and played with Breakaway Basketball.

“Getting my first division one offer was great,” Kinkade said about receiving his newest offer. “It’s obviously been a dream of mine since I was little and seeing the work payoff is great.” The Citadel offer mark the third offer for the senior. Back in May, the sharpshooter picked up an offer from Winona State and was also offered by Lewis University next in June.

When asked about his trip to the Southern Conference school, Kinkade said “the visit was cool. Charleston is a nice city. The players and coaching staff were really good to me and watching practice was something I looked forward to and it didn’t disappoint.”

There are a few things Kinkade likes already about The Citadel following the visit and offer. “I liked the culture the basketball team had. The coaching staff and players had a very tight relationship on and off the court which was cool to see.”

Look for the interest and offer list to continue to grow into the senior year for Kinkade who is one of the top shooters in all of Illinois.
