Big day of basketball at the GNBA Championships. As we moved into bracket play today, the level of hoops was raised up a notch later in the day. Here is a small sample of the standouts from Waukegan. Championship Sunday is only hours away.

Cooper Borowicz – 2027 – SF – Wisconsin Blizzard

Some players are just made for the big moments and that was Borowicz today. In an overtime victory, the forward just took over going 3-3 from the field. He was able to score all of his teams seven points in the period to capture the win including a big corner three that ended up being the game winner.

Adrian Czekaj – 2029 – F – Kessel Heat

When you score 39 points in a win, it’s safe to say you fully earned a spot on this list. Every point was much needed as Kessel won tonight’s game by two points to send them into the 12U quarterfinals. He already has good size and length at a young age and was finishing everything all around the paint. He also had himself an 18-point in a win earlier in the day.

Dion Lane – 2027 – PG – Powerhouse Sports

Lane has continued to impress this season on the GNBA and that continued today with a 22-point game in a winning effort to advance them into the 14U quarterfinals. While playing on the attack, Lane proved so tough to stop. He moves very well with the ball in his hands and quickly hits any gaps to constantly get into the paint and make plays.

Jason Susdorf – 2028 – PG – Region Force

An incredibly consistent player that continues to be one of the top players and scorers on the 13U level of the GNBA this season. This continued today with a 24-point game today in addition to a 21-point showing. Not only is he one of the top shot makers hitting five threes in a game but also moves extremely well with the ball playing on the attack to score from all over the floor.

Ethan Vahl – 2028 – PG – Illinois Flight

Game after game, Vahl just continues to play on another level. While still more than a year out from high school he has such an advanced game. In one of his games today, Vahl went for 20 points in a win but also greatly impressed with his vision and passing ability when on the attack. Vahl and the Flight will start off in the quarterfinals Sunday morning as they look for another championship.
