2025 6'1 Azavier Robinson - George Hill 17U NY2LA
Azavier Robinson is a very talented young guard who played up with George Hill 17s over the weekend. He started off the weekend hot with 19 points on Friday in a win over Team Haliburton and continued the momentum throughout Swish N Dish. Robinson can shoot it from deep, break guys down off the dribble and uses his length to finish in traffic at the rim. Most impressive about Robinson’s game was his dedication to the defensive end of the floor. He was the best on-ball defender I watched at the 17U level with quick feet and great timing to get steals without fouling. Robinson will be one of the hottest names on the NY2LA Association during the live periods later this month.
2025 6’2 Jamarion Batemon - Power 5 16U 3SSB
Jamarion Batemon is a combo guard who can catch fire in a hurry and was arguably the best shooter in the entire event. He is elite in catch and shoot with a quick release and great touch from deep, and also has a nice pull up game able to knock down transition threes and midrange jumpers. Batemon is a high IQ player and does a lot of little things to impact winning. Right now he is at his best hunting his shot but can also operate as a secondary ball handler and create for teammates in the half court.
2025 6’6 Aaron Womack - Team Haliburton 17U NY2LA
Aaron Womack is a lengthy wing with a lightning quick release from deep. Womack has really stretched out over the past year and is gaining athleticism. At 6’6 he has deep range with efficient mechanics on his jumper and is deadly in catch and shoot. He is a pure wing who is comfortable handling the ball and operating on the perimeter. Womack needs to continue to gain strength to play through contact but had some impressive moments over the weekend playing up an age level with Team Haliburton 17U.
2025 6’7 Mike Jones - Mac Irvin 16U EYBL
Mike Jones put together some big scoring performances at Swish N Dish helping Mac Irvin Fire to a Runner-Up finish in the 16U platinum bracket. Jones is a power wing who can play inside and on the perimeter. He has athleticism to play above the rim, embraces physicality and brings a paint presence defensively and on the glass. I was impressed with Jones perimeter skillset as he has clean mechanics on his jumper and is tough to stop as a driver using his size to get downhill and finish at the rim. I expect his offer list to grow on the EYBL this spring.
2025 6’7 Devin Brown - Power 5 16U 3SSB
Devin Brown was one of the top 2025 prospects I watched over the weekend teaming up with Jamarion Batemon and Davion Hannah as part of a talented Power 5 16U group. Brown is a strong forward who does the dirty work in the paint - contesting shots, rebounding, finishing in traffic - but also had some really good moments on the perimeter. He has improved his jumper and hit some threes, and also can attack closeouts and get downhill off the dribble. Brown also showed the ability to grab and go on the defensive glass and push in transition. Although not a true wing at this stage, Brown has good lateral quickness to defend ball screens and can stay in front of quicker players when switched on to the perimeter.
2025 6’9 Cohen George - Yanders Law 17U NY2LA
Cohen George is an intriguing young big who showed high upside playing up with Yanders Law 17U. George can really run the floor at his size and is a fluid athlete. He has good feet and hands, knows where to be on the floor and has good instincts as a shot blocker and help defender. George has a nice touch around the basket and also hit a couple smooth midrange shots over the weekend. His physical tools and upside combined with the proven player development of the Yanders program make George a must watch prospect this grassroots season.
2025 6’3 Markus Blackwell - REACH 17U NY2LA
Markus Blackwell had a lot of success last year in the NY2LA Association and had another big weekend for REACH, highlighted by a 30 point game on Saturday. Blackwell is a polished scorer who can play on or off the ball, excels at creating space off the dribble, has range on his jumper, and can finish around the rim. He was guarded by the opposing team's best perimeter defender all weekend but was still able to score efficiently while also creating for teammates.
