Back in the spring of his freshman year, Jaden Smith received his first scholarship offer coming from TCU. Since then, he has continued to reel in the offers that is now nearing double digits for the junior of Kenwood Academy and Mac Irvin Fire.

His newest offer came in over the weekend on his visit to the University of Dayton. “Watched shoot around, took a tour around campus, talked to coaches, watched the game,” Smith said about his visit. When talking about Dayton, he said “I like the environment, the family like atmosphere, and the coaching staff.”

As well to his first and most recent offers, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Northern Illinois, St. Louis, UIC, and Western Illinois have all also offered. As well to the offers, Alabama, Bradley, DePaul, Iowa, Loyola Chicago, Michigan State, Northern Iowa, and Xavier are amongst other schools showing interest in him.

Right now, Smith says that DePaul, Illinois State, and Xavier are recruiting him the hardest from the long list of programs interested in him.

Apart of one of the most talented high school teams in the Midwest, Smith is currently averaging 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game for Kenwood Academy this season. At 6’11’” with his length and his ability to make a big impact on both ends of the floor, he is one of the top available big men in the regions 2024 class as well to having one of the highest upsides.

Smith and Kenwood have already captured a regional championship and will take their next step towards a state championship on Tuesday versus Bloom Township.
