One of the top available seniors in Chicago as well as all of Illinois right now is Chikasi Ofoma. Over the past two years, the 6’7” forward of Curie High School has been one of the top 2023 players in the city. While he has seen interest from schools on various levels, he has yet to receive a scholarship offer from a division one or two program.

Last year during his play with the Illinois Wolves and into his senior season with Curie, the recruitment of Ofoma has continued to pick up. Several programs from the division one and division two levels have recruited the forward. Amongst these schools are Farleigh Dickinson, McKendree, Navy, and others. As well, Ofoma has received plenty of interest from junior college and prep school programs.

“Super strong versatile forward offensively and defensively,” Ofoma said to describe his own game. “Someone who can handle the ball, super athletic, and a great passer.” The 6’7” forward is an energetic player who can impact the game in many ways. He is a very tough and aggressive defender who can match up defensively with multiple positions effectively. Ofoma plays big on the offensive end finishing around the basket but also has the ability to make plays off the dribble.

With the regular season complete, Ofoma averaged 12.3 points on an efficient 66% from the field plus 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game for Curie. While he currently has no timeline on a college commitment, he is looking towards the spring to decide upon his plans for the fall. With all he can do on the floor, he is one of the more overlooked players in the area who can do so much to a help a team win games.
