After sharing the spotlight last season with now Duke player Jaden Schutt apart of a state championship team, this season has been all about David Douglas for Yorkville Christian High School (IL). With the opportunity, the 6’5” senior guard has more than thrived in the star role.

Throughout this high school season, Douglas has been one of the top scorers in not just Illinois but the entire Midwest. After a fifty-point game last week, Douglas took it to another level this week with a staggering sixty-six-point game. He just recently broke Jaden Schutt’s school record single season point total of 911 and is now closing in on a one-thousand-point season.

Douglas received his first offer last summer from Minnesota Duluth and his recruitment has continued to build from there. He recently landed another offer from Minnesota State Moorhead. Along with offers from Cedarville and University of Mary, the senior now has four division two offers. With his breakout season, plenty of division one schools have started showing interest in him. The long list includes American, Bradley, Cal Poly, Idaho State, Incarnate Word, Navy, South Dakota, Southern Indiana, Utah Tech, VMI, Wyoming, and others.

With his recruitment stock continuing to increase, Douglas is still fully focused on his high school season. “Right now, I’m just focusing on the season and looking to get another state championship.” After the season Douglas will be looking to take some visits and then make his collegiate selection.
