The post grad season is now truly paying off for Dominic Commisso . The 6’9” forward has just received his first division one offer. After graduating from Hononegah High School (IL) last year, Commisso opted for a year at The Newman School in Boston. “My season at Newman has been going great. I know I’ve made the right decision coming here. I’ve been able to lock in and develop my skills each day. The league we play in is not easy and going up against high D1 competition every night is a battle that has helped me improve,” Commisso said. Right now, he is averaging 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game on the year.

After making a visit to The Citadel, Commisso received an offer from head coach Ed Conroy and staff. “It felt surreal to have that moment come true. For years now I been working, trying to get to the division one level and to finally receive that offer was an experience I will never forget.”

When talking about what he likes about the SoCon school, Commisso first mentioned the coaching staff. “The coaching staff at The Citadel is one I really trust and have a good relationship with. They are honest and see great things for me. They are building a culture I could see myself fitting in.”

“The visit was an awesome experience,” he said about the trip to the South Carolina school. “To be able to meet the team and see how everyone interacted together showed me how much everyone cared for each other and made it feel like a family. Touring the campus was also great and I really got a feel for the type of place it is.”

As well to the offer from The Citadel, Commisso already has some division two offers including Mercyhurst, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Truman State. Other programs showing interest in him include Central Connecticut, Maine, North Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, and Stonehill.
