The newest player from Illinois 2024 class to receive a division one offer is JeShawn Stevenson. The 6’4” guard of Lindblom Academy in Chicago and the Young & Reckless program received his first offer on Wednesday.

After flying under the radar during a big sophomore season, Stevenson is finally getting some of the deserved recruitment attention for a player of his level. The scholarship offer for Stevenson came from Northern Illinois and head coach Rashon Bruno. “Feels great just to know the work I have been putting in up to this point is paying off,” he said about receiving his first offer.

While Northern Illinois is his only offer so far, there are a few other programs recruiting him.  Dartmouth, Eastern Illinois, and Radford are amongst these schools.

“I’m a combo guard who can defend the post and perimeter. I would like to improve my rebounding and instincts on the defensive end. I can score from all three levels and will do whatever it takes to increase my team’s chances of winning,” he said when describing his own game.

During his junior season, Stevenson has been one of the top junior guards in Chicago while averaging 28 points per game to help Lindblom out to a 9-5 record currently. This is to go along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. With his scoring and versatility, only look for the recruitment of Stevenson to grow during his junior season and into the spring grassroots season.
