Over the past year, Jason Jakstys has continued to develop his game to be one of top 2024 big men in Illinois as well as the Midwest. During the spring and summer while playing with Paradise, his abilities continued to grow to go along with his 6’9” height. In the recent NY2LA Illinois 2024 rankings, Jakstys came in at the eleventh spot.

With all his tools, Jakstys has continued to draw interest from plenty of division one programs. Belmont, Illinois State, Lehigh, Liberty, North Dakota State, and Yale are some of the schools to have been in contact with him. He has currently taken one visit so far which was to Illinois State back in August. Jakstys called it a “very nice visit.”

When talking about the growth of his game, the junior attributed it to his outside game and interior play as well to his ability on defense end. On the floor, his agility and mobility for a 6’9” post for stand out. Even with his great size, he moves extremely well roaming the interior and running the floor.  As well to being able to score inside with his size and length, his jump shot and range have continued to improve.

Look for Jakstys to have a big junior season at Yorkville High School (IL) when the season starts next week.
