With his scoring ability, Cole Certa has developed into one of the top players in the 2024 class for the state of Illinois. He received his first offer in July and continued to pull them in since then. Certa currently sits at sixth in the NY2LA 2024 Illinois rankings amongst a strong class.

He started the grassroots season with a forty-point game at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish back in April with the Illinois Wolves and only continued to build from there. “My season with the Wolves was great. Was blessed to play with a great group of guys that all played the right way, can’t wait to get back with them next year.”

The 6’5” two guard is one of the top shot makers in the entire region. Certa has a pure jumper with great range and the ability to hit tough contested jumpers. He is a knockdown shooter spotting up but can also handle to ball and create his own shot.

Certa currently holds offers from Bradley, Drake, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Loyola Chicago, Northwestern, Southern Illinois, and Toledo.

The junior has taken several visits including to Belmont, Illinois State, Loyola Chicago, Northwestern, and most recently Illinois. “Visit with Illinois went great,” he said about the trip. “Got to go watch practice, photo shoot, and go to the football game. Also went back when they played their exhibition game and had a great time.”

After his successful grassroots season, Certa is looking to continue that in his upcoming junior season at Bloomington Central Catholic (IL). He has his goals set to win conference and a state championship.
