Another member of the MidPro Academy 2023 team has made their commitment. Justin Page is the sixth player of the team to commit to a division one program. The 6’5” point guard of East Peoria High School (IL) joins Brock Harding, Owen Freeman, Danny Stephens, Ty Pence, and Ethan Kizer in this group.

On Sunday, Page announced his commitment to Cal Poly. The commitment comes after the senior from East Peoria High School (IL) was offered by the Mustangs just a few weeks ago back in October. When talking about his trip out west to Cal Poly, Page said “the visit was great. The team showed me a lot of love as the whole community, it was a great time.”

It was the coaching staff of Cal Poly that won him over, with Page calling them the main reason on why he committed there. “I’ve never met a coaching staff as humble, competitive, and genuine, and great people as them. Also, the campus was beautiful, I love the way they play.”

When talking about his future playing with Cal Poly in the Big West Conference, he said “My game will translate great with Cal Poly and Coach Smith. He lets his guards play and puts a lot of trust in his guards. I feel I can be that leader on the floor to help win ball games.”

The Cal Poly coaching staff has recruited Illinois heavily recently as Page marks their second commitment from the state in their 2023 class. He joins fellow guard Quentin Jones of Marian Catholic High School. The duo gives them a future backcourt with good size who are both very tough on ball defenders.
