In addition to the top performers and stock boosters, there were many players who stood out at the 15U level. Here are several more talented players that excelled from the Lone Star Invitational.
Myles Ewell – 2024 – F/C – Drive5 Elite
Ewell is a 6’8” post with a nice strong build plus a good motor. The freshman really battles in the paint on both ends of the floor. He is a strong scorer around the basket that finishes everything and can score right through contact. A big man to keep an eye on.
Jadyn Hollis – 2024 – G – 3D Empire
A playmaking point guard with good quickness. He is a pass first player that was often blowing by defenders to get into the defense and distribute it out. In addition to his quickness, he has good handle and shifty moves making him incredibly difficult to stay in front of. He was always scanning the floor on his drives looking for the open man and read defenses well.
Kon Knueppel – 2024 – G – Phenom University
While Knueppel has proven he’s one of the top 2024 shooters around, and this tournament was no exception, he also impressed with much more. One aspect that really stood was his motor, as he continuously outworked the opposition. As well to his shot making ability, Knueppel plays well off the dribble, can create for his teammates, and rebounds well for a guard. In addition to playing at the 15U level, the freshman played two levels up for the Phenom 17U squad and fit right in.
Hogan Smith – 2024 – F – Yanders Law
Smith is an active and aggressive forward. He is a tough interior defender that can shut down opposing big men in the paint. He goes hard to the glass on both ends to rebound the ball well. He can score down on the block but impressed with the range on his jumper hitting some shots well beyond the arc.
DeJuan Wilkes – 2024 – G – The Institute
Wilkes is a lighting quick point guard that really stood out with defense. He is an aggressive on-ball defender that uses his quickness to get all over opposing guards and pressure the ball. With his tremendous defense, he was able to force several turnovers including some five counts. Offensively, he used his speed to blow right by defenders and get to the basket and finish.
