Two Ankeny Centennial (IA) senior forwards have made their respective college decisions, both to Division II schools. Micah Johnson picked Missouri S&T, while his teammate Cody McCullough decided upon Wayne State College.
While the news of Johnson’s commitment broke out a couple weeks ago, he announced the news himself via twitter of his college pick. Johnson is a 6’8” forward who played with All Iowa Attack. Missouri S&T had just offered him a month ago in the beginning of October. He picked the Miners over his other scholarship offers from Midland University and Truman State.
Johnson would not be on his own, as his teammate Cody McCullough matched his commitment by announcing his very own to Wayne State College in Nebraska on Sunday night. McCullough is a 6’8” power forward/center who also played with All Iowa Attack. He picked the Wildcats over scholarship offers from Nebraska-Kearney and Truman State.
Micah Johnson is a talented forward who has the ability to contribute in many ways. He has a well-rounded game with his interior defense, passing ability, high energy of play, and ability to knock down shots from the mid-range and three. McCullough is a very lengthy 6’8” big man with a high ceiling. He does the bulk of his scoring around the basket and is also a skilled rim protector. The pair will form one of the better senior frontcourts in all of Iowa for this upcoming high school season.
