Each summer another class wraps up their final grassroots travel campaign while the next class in line gets primed up for their place on center stage and the transition between the 2019 class to the 2020 class is no exception regionally or nationally. Up next in the 2020 class are a number of hungry prospects either highly regarded nationally or elevating by the day regionally as potential national type recruits. One such talent is Isaiah Rivera of Geneseo High School in Illinois.
A near 6’5” 190 plus pound scoring guard who can slide between the 2 or the 3, Rivera is starting his ascent onto regional and national radars after a strong spring and summer campaign with the Quad City Elite program in the NY2LA Basketball Association. A multi-dimensional wing talent with athleticism, handles, range that extends beyond the arc, and a scorer’s mentality to attack at any level, Rivera is a strong combination of strength, skill, and aggressiveness that makes for a highly intriguing talent in the 2020 class.
Drake, New Mexico, Northern Iowa, Southern, St. Johns, and Valparaiso have offers on the table already while schools like Nebraska (he recently took an unofficial visit), De Paul, Iowa, Iowa State, etc. have also expressed interest. Still early in the process for most 2020 prospects, Rivera is one of those late blooming talents who should continue to see elevate as a prospect onto the radars of schools both regionally and nationally over the next 12-14 months.
Still writing his story recruiting wise, Isaiah Rivera is at the table as a must track and watch prospect this year and you can expect the 2020 talent to have a recruiting trail full of suitors by this time next fall as he’s definitely one of the more intriguing and fast rising 2020 prospects in the Midwest for Division 1 schools at the mid and high major levels.
