Washington University in St. Louis continued to add to their 2024 recruiting class. On Sunday they landed a commitment from one of the top remaining seniors in all of Illinois in 6’7” wing Connor May. Right now, the senior is averaging 19.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game for 6-3 Palatine High School.

“The campus and school itself is amazing,” May said on what he liked about his future school. “I really enjoyed the team and coaches.” The commitment comes after May took a visit to the St. Louis campus back in October. “I instantly was impressed with the campus, team, and overall atmosphere. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming when I visited” he said.

May chose the division three program over scholarship offers from both division one and two programs. He had previously received offers from Eastern Illinois, Lehigh, and Lewis University. “Wash U just felt like the right fit for me,” he said about selecting them over his offers. “It meets my high academic goals, I clicked with the team and coaches, and it just felt like the best place for me.”

In addition to May, Anthony Przybilla is also in the Bears 2024 recruiting class who also had a scholarship offer. In addition to being one of the top academic universities in the entire nation, Washington University is also a very strong basketball program currently ranked sixteenth in the nation and won national championships back-to-back in 2008 and 2009.

May played with the Breakaway Basketball program.
