Over the past several months, Lincoln Williams has developed into one of the top players and prospects in all of Illinois’ 2026 class. It started with a breakout grassroots season with the Mac Irvin Fire and has continued into the early high school season so far with Kankakee High School. Right now, Williams is averaging 23 points per game.

While back in the spring he was not receiving any interest from college coaches, that quickly changed. With his tremendous breakout play in recent months, Williams has emerged on plenty of college coaches’ radars already even while he is just starting his sophomore season. The 6’5” wing guard picked up his first couple of offers back in July coming from Northern Illinois and Western Illinois and has since added an offer from Bryant. In addition to his offers, Bradley, DePaul, Southern Illinois, and Valparaiso are among some of the other schools recruiting him.

Over the fall, Williams had taken visits to Bradley, DePaul, and Valparaiso. When asked about the visits, the sophomore called them all “great.” Williams said that he was able to get a good feel for all the campuses and was able to meet with all the players. Some of the schools that he would like to visit in the future include UIC and most Big 10 programs.

“Put my city on the map,” is what Williams said he is striving to accomplish during the rest of his sophomore season. With the play of Williams, Kankakee High School currently has been perfect with a 4-0 record. College coaches can see Williams and Kankakee coming up at both Marion’s Black Diamond Shootout and the Norm Stewart Classic in the coming weeks.
