While there hasn’t been a ton of offers being thrown out there recently, one senior who was able to pick up a couple of them in the last few days was Christian Meeks. The 6’6” forward of Homewood-Flossmoor High School (IL) and Team Rose was offered by both Missouri-St. Louis and Navy.

“I have a good relationship with both the UMSL and Navy coaches,” Meeks said when talking about these two schools that have offered him. For UMSL, Meeks likes the proximity of the school only being a state away so his family could see his games. “With Navy, it offers great academics along with a chance to play a high level of basketball. But overall, both programs are great.”

Meeks also holds an offer from Tennessee-Martin which he picked up back during the summer. While he has no favorite at this point, he is honored and excited about all three programs that have offered him.

The biggest thing that Meeks is looking for in his future college is the best fit for both athletics as well as basketball. Another thing the unsigned senior is looking for in his future program is a great relationship with the coaching staff and team. “I want to go to a place that I’m truly wanted and can take my game to the next level. Once all of those boxes are checked off, then that’s the place for me.”

On the season so far, he has helped Homewood-Flossmoor out to a 13-5 record while averaging 18.2 points and 8 rebounds per game. Meeks is in no rush to make a commitment and is eyeing the end of his high school season to pick his future home.
