A special talent that is already emerging in Illinois’ strong 2025 class is Bryce Heard of Kenwood Academy. Earlier this year Heard was a standout with the Mac Irvin Fire and now he is making a real impact for one of the top high school teams in the nation.
Not only does Heard have great size in the backcourt at 6’5” but plenty of ability to go with it. He has good length and plays well on both ends of the floor. With his athleticism and size, he is a tough defender that matches up well with multiple positions as well to being a tough rebounder. He is a true three level scorer that can beat defenders in a variety of ways. The wing guard excels at attacking the basket with his moves and strength to finish inside but can also knock down shots from the outside.
Even while playing for a loaded Kenwood Academy team as a freshman, Heard is already making his presence felt. He has helped the team to a 3-0 start and recorded a 13 point, 3 rebound, 3 steals, and 2 assists performance already this season.
Plenty of college coaches are already starting to notice the special talent he is. Schools from around the nation have already offered him. DePaul, Illinois, Jacksonville University, LSU, and Western Illinois are his current offers.
Not only does Heard have all the tools to be one of the top 2025 players in the Midwest but the entire nation as well.
