With the hundreds of teams on hand in Louisville last weekend, there were plenty of players making a name for themselves. Here is part one of the stock boosters for the 17U level. 

Matthew Coffey – 2022 – F – Michigan Playmakers
Coffey is a very physical and high energy 6’8” power forward with a strong build. He scored the ball at a high rate when he got it in the low or high post. With all his tools, he does a great job finishing around the paint and just could not be stopped on the inside finishing right through or over defenders.  

Marcel Drone – 2021 – PF – World Hoops Elite
The unsigned senior is a strong power forward with a solid build. He is a tough post scorer that showed a couple good post moves and scored on a high percentage of his paint touches. He has good hands and does a nice quickly finishing on any dump offs. Drone is a physical player that is a highly aggressive rebounder. 

Kenny Garth – 2022 – G – World Hoops Elite
Garth is a highly versatile playmaking guard with good length. He can contribute in a variety of ways including distributing it a high level, tough on ball defender that was constantly forcing turnovers, scores it well going to the basket, and more. 

RJ Godfrey – 2022 – F – Atlanta Xpress
A versatile 6’7” wing forward with plenty of skill. He is a dynamic junior that scored the ball very well going to the basket. Godfrey is a tough matchup as he moves well with the basketball and is a tough finisher inside as well to being able to shoot it well off the dribble in the mid-range.  

Gaddis Heath – 2022 – G – D-Favors Celtics
Heath is an athletic 6’4” guard with a solid frame and big motor. He has a good ability to play on or off the ball effectively. With the ball, he is a tough attacking guard that got to the basket often and finishes but is also a good spot up shooter from three. The junior is also contributed with his defensive versatility, rebounding well as a guard, and just is able to do a bit of everything on the floor. 

Alex Hurr – 2021 – G – Rocky Mountain Select
The unsigned senior from Colorado had another good showing this weekend. He is a high IQ guard that can really score the ball with a good all-around skill set. He is strong with the ball and is very good off the dribble attacking and finishes well around the paint but was also knocking down threes in bunches. While he put up some big scoring totals, he also is a good passer on the attack.

Amhad Jarrard – 2022 – G – George Hill All Indy
The highly athletic guard impressed with his scoring ability with the ball in his hands. Not only does he score the ball extremely well going to the basket, but he was shooting the ball at a high percentage off the dribble from deep. He has some size in the backcourt at 6’4” with a solid build. Following the tournament, Jarrard got an offer from Coastal Carolina. 

Sean Jones – 2022 – G – All Ohio Red
An incredibly shifty and quick guard that is so difficult to defend off the dribble. Jones moves so well with the ball with tight handle to be able to create his own shot on the outside as well to getting into the paint. He is a quality playmaker that also showed a good distributing ability with pinpoint passing. 

Sahmir King – 2022 – PF – D-Favors Celtics
King is a powerful 6’8” big man with an incredibly strong build to just be a force on the floor. He moves well for his size with some agility and impressed with his ability to finish it strong at the rim though contact. He plays with good energy and battles on the defensive end and on the glass.  

Patrick Kombo – 2022 – G – Michigan Playmakers
Kombo plays well with the ball in his hands and has some good point guard skills and a high IQ. He moves well with the ball with good tight handle to get wherever he wants with the ball on the floor. He’s at his best distributing the ball out with some good passing skills, but also scored it himself going to the basket.
