With the high school season just now underway in Illinois, there are many players across the state taking advantage of it and making a name for themselves. One of these breakout star in the young season so far has been Ethan Marlowe.

The 6’8” junior forward is currently averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds to help St. Charles North off to a 3-1 record so far. More and more division one college coaches are staking to take notice as Cal State Fullerton, Drake, Penn, Southern Utah, and Western Illinois have shown interest in him.

One of the schools that is really standing out so far to him is Penn. “Penn has really been showing me a lot of interest…I’ve been impressed with their program and academics,” Marlowe commented.

“The season is going great so far. It’s been great to be back in the gym with the guys, although we don’t have all the practice time of a normal high school season, we are making most of every chance we have,” Marlowe commented on how the season has been going so far.

During the prolonged off season, Marlowe took it as an opportunity to work on becoming a more complete player. “Over the off season I had access to a gym and I worked on ball handling every day and just improving my wing skills, I improved my outside the arc game a lot over the off season.”

Even at 6’8”, Marlowe has a good all-around skill set. He is a legitimate threat to shoot the ball from the outside with good range already hitting ten threes this season but can also score inside with his size. Even with his size he has a good ability to matchup with guards as well as forwards on the defensive end.
