These are five players that are all in different levels of their own recruitment, but all show great promise and excelled during the second session of the Grassroots Showdown.

Jamal Ambrose – Gain Elite – C
He is a big strong 6’10” post playing up a level that showed great potential. Such an imposing figure in the paint that does a good job of protecting the rim. Ambrose did the majority of his scoring around the paint with his size and soft touch but impressed with a good-looking jumper being able to spot up from three.

Grant Asman – Mac Attack – PF/C
Asman continues to impress with all of his skills for a being a very lengthy big man. Plays even bigger than his 6’10” height with his incredible length. In addition to his impressive play around the basket, not only did he stretch the floor shooting it from beyond the arc but also showed that he can put the ball on the floor. He has incredible upside with his size and all he can do on the floor.

John Lovelace Jr. – TH-2021 – G/F
The 6’7 plus length wing is continuing to show flashes of coming into his own.  This past weekend he knocked down jump shots, finished in transition, and displaying high level defense on the perimeter and activity at all levels.  Really like his ceiling and he’s just scratching the surface of his potential.

Keyon Menifield Jr. – UTS Elite – G
In session one Menifield was one of the top scorers there, though in this most recent session he greatly impressed with his distributing ability. He is very quick off the dribble to get inside and pass the ball. Did a good job drawing help defenders and finding the open man. Knows where to go with it when he is attacking plus he is a skilled passer.

Harrison Oguchuwu – REACH Legends – F
An athletic 6’8” forward with a big-time motor. Very agile for his size to get all over the court to make plays. Oguchuwu hits the glass hard to grab any rebounds near him and protects the paint well. Developing big with plenty of upside.
