A solid group of up and coming Class of 2022 post players are making a lot of noise in Illinois this season.  Here’s a quick look at five of them…

Note – Not listed in any particular order

TINLEY PARK - 6’9 - PF - ANDRE CASEY JR.
Casey is one of the top prospects nationally in the Class of 2022 and for a good reason. He does it all, he shoots it at a good rate from deep both off the dribble and the catch. He is versatile enough to take defenders off the dribble and finish at or above the rim. Casey has a very bright future ahead of him.

LAKE FOREST ACADEMY - 6’8 - PF - NIGEL HYLTON
Hylton is a native of Toronto, Ontario. The young Canadian has made his impact felt stateside. He continues to show he has boatloads of potential. He has a solid frame and shoots it well from deep. I expect offers to come rolling in soon.

OAK FOREST - 6’8 - PF - ROBBIE AVILA
Avila has really come along as a prospect. His advanced skillset for a guy his size has division one coaches talking. He has the ability to handle the ball and is a very smart player, he is tough on the block and seals hard when he gets a touch. Has the ability to open up the floor with his ability to shoot it from deep. He will be a force at Oak Forest for the next two years.

GLENBARD WEST - 6’9 - C - BRADEN HUFF
Huff can play both positions, the four and the five. I like him as a four moving forward. With his length and athleticism I think he would be a very nice prospect at the four. He has a nice skillset and runs the court hard. Jumpshot is projectable and will come along with more reps. He is a good shot blocker around the rim and will put on weight as he grows.

ST. JOSEPH - 6’10 - C - KYLE THOMAS
Thomas is a very good scorer around the rim. He has a soft touch and is a good rebounder on both ends. With more touches on the block he will become a refined post scorer with great moves. Runs court well, his frame will allow him to become a HM post prospect if everything goes as planned.
