A talented freshman class continues to evolve in the state of Illinois and Jeremy Fears Jr. of Joliet West is one reason why.  His smooth skills with the ball in his hands and his ability to make plays on both ends of the court has college coaches very excited. Currently Fears holds offers from Chicago State, Detroit, UIC and Ohio…

JO - What has the jump from Middle School to Varsity been like?
JF - “The jump from middle school to varsity was definitely a challenge from a physical standpoint and I have really had to adjust to the speed of the game.”

JO - What did you do in order to prepare for the varsity level?
JF - “I trained every single day in the spring and summer. As soon as school ended last year my dad had me on three a days. Also, the Joliet West basketball program really goes hard and takes their summer camp very serious.”

JO - What is the goal for your team the rest of the way?
JF - “The only goal is to win a state championship!”

JO - Does getting offers early change the way you play?
JF - Not at all. My dad says all the time, it’s a long process I have to turn it up as I get older and my body matures more. If anything, it just makes me more hungry.
