Athletes are always a premium and the state of Wisconsin has more than their fair share.  Here’s a quick look at five athletic up and coming prospects in the 2021 and 2022 classes to take note of on the hardwood in the coming months…

Note – Listed in alphabetical order

Learic Davis – 2022 – SF – Bradley Tech
A 6-7 plus length rising wing, Davis plays above the rim with ease both in transition and half court sets.  His wiry frame and quick bounce makes him a difficult matchup and in transition he’s a man among boys finishing above the rim. He bounces quickly and he elevates to the top of the square with ease and he’s one of the more exciting transition finishers in the state when the opportunity presents itself.

Tyrese Hunter – 2021 – PG – Racine St. Catherines
Pound for pound Hunter might be the most explosive athlete in the country right now.  His ability to elevate in transition or half court sets is surpassed only by his no fear approach and desire to posterize anyone or anything in his path.  He’s beginning to draw comparisons to T.J. Ford except in a more physical sense.  A high major impact guard with explosive quickness, Hunter is a must watch prospect whenever he takes the court.

Logan Landers – 2021 – F/C – Brookfield Academy
Standing at 6-10 with nice size, length, and strength, Landers definitely passes the look test for a high major interior prospect.  Athletically is where he takes the next step as he’s shown an ability to rise high above the crowd with ease in highlight fashion.  Whether it’s a workout, an open run, or a game in season Landers has the ability to posterize anyone in his path and he’s shown some quick athletic leaping ability in transition that’s unique for a player his size.

John Lovelace Jr. – 2021 – F – Wauwatosa East
Another 6-7 plus length wiry prospect with an ability to elevate easily through traffic and in transition.  In the open court or attacking the rim he can finish with ease above the rim in a variety of ways and his athleticism makes him a versatile prospect that can score with minimal effort.  One of the more intriguing prospects in the state, Lovelace has excellent bounce and he’s trending upward.

Seth Trimble – 2022 – PG – Menomonee Falls
If Hunter is 1A in terms of explosive bounce in the state for the 2021-2022 classes then Trimble might very well be 1B.  A strong super athletic up and coming guard, Trimble has really taken some huge steps forward physically the past 12 months.  He has an explosive first step and nice handles and his ability for a player of his size to go over the top of the defense at the rim is matched only by Hunter in the state.  He’s trending up in a big way as a prospect.
