It’s hard to find the kind of players that will fill up the box score and do all the intangible things the coaches ask for but that is exactly how Isaiah Sanders plays basketball.  He is the glue that helps Detroit Cass Tech stick with his rebounding, defense and scoring inside the paint.

Detroit Cass Tech and Sanders is having a great season so far at 7-1 and being ranked one of the top teams in Michigan.  His presence inside gives them an edge in the Detroit Public School League this season that many teams do not have.

“Isaiah worked tirelessly hard this past summer to insure he would be a scholarship college basketball player,” says his Michigan Playmakers coach Wendell Green.  “He has come a long way in the last five years playing for us and we are proud of how he conducts himself on and off the court.”

Being a student-athlete and having great grades made him a student-athlete worthy enough to play at the next level.  He received interest from multiple schools in the GLIAC and smaller schools.  Sanders made the decision during the season to commit to Notre Dame College in Ohio.  He should be able to make an impact on that roster immediately in the NCAA Division 2 Mountain East Conference.

Sanders is a high character student-athlete and that shows in how he plays. Currently, he leads Detroit Cass Tech in rebounding and block shots. His impact down low for the Technicians will play a big role on their quest to win their 3rd Detroit Public School League Title in four years.
