The 2016 class is front and center with official signings and additional commitments this month while the 2017 and 2018 classes continue to build momentum as well.  Here’s a brief look some updates on prospects in the Midwest in Today’s news and notes…

Geneva (IL) 2016 C Loudon Vollbrecht committed to South Dakota State on Tuesday.  He played with the Tri-City Thunder during the grassroots travel season.

2016 PG Micah Bradford of Bradley Bourbonnais (IL) committed to Valparaiso on Tuesday.  The talented guard spent time with the Mac Irvin Fire and Example Sports during the grassroots travel season.

2016 F Max Keefe of Germantown (WI) committed to Concordia St. Paul (MN) on Monday.  He played with the Wisconsin Swing during the grassroots travel season.

Westerville (Ohio.) South 2016 small forward Andre Wesson is receiving new interest from Richmond and Wisconsin. He has offers from Akron, Toledo, Tennessee-Martin, George Mason, Northern Kentucky, Illinois State, Duquesne, and Bowling Green. 

Kaukauna (Wis.) 2018 point guard Jordan McCabe took an unofficial visit to West Virginia over the weekend. The Mountaineers have offered along with DePaul and Missouri among others.

Drake, Sam Houston State, and IUPUI are among those currently interested in Oshkosh (Wis.) North 2018 point guard Tyrese Haliburton. 

Oshkosh (Wis.) North 2018 shooting guard Philip Flory took an unofficial visit to DePaul over the weekend. He’s also made trips to Creighton and Wichita State as of late. 

Beachwood (Ohio.) 2016 guard Maishe Dailey will visit Michigan on Thursday. He’s being recruited as a 2017 prospect by the Wolverines. 

Champlin Park (Minn.) 2017 guard McKinley Weight took a visit to Minnesota over the weekend. Wright has offers from Creighton, Illinois, Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Iowa State.

Creighton hosted Pine Bluffs (Wyo.) 2017 power forward Hunter Thompson over the weekend. Thompson has offers from Creighton, Colorado, New Mexico, and others. 

The inaugural NY2LA Sports Saturday Night Showdown will tip off on January 30, 2016 at Brown Deer High School (WI).  The two game Saturday night event will tip off with defending Division 3 state champion Brown Deer (WI) playing host to defending Division 2 state champion Wisconsin Lutheran (WI).  The nightcap will see Milwaukee Riverside (WI) host Ripon (WI) in a battle that will feature some of the top prospects in the state in Luke Loewe, Bennett Vander Plas, Terrence Lewis, George Dixon, Carlos Curtis, etc.  CLICK HERE FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS
